Text Box: 		Named “Organist of the Year” by the ATOS in 1987, Jonas Nordwall is an internationally renowned virtuoso organist equally skilled in both traditional classical and modern/popular schools of musical performance.
		A Portland, Oregon native, Nordwall’s musical studies began at age 4 on the accordion, and  expanded to piano and organ by age 10. At 16, he performed for Sweden’s King Gustav Adolf.  
		In the mid 1960s, Nordwall was one of few organists professionally playing theatre pipe 
organs. He was the organist for the Howard Vollum Estate (co-founder of Tektronix) and later senior staff organist for the Organ Grinder Corporation, performing in both Portland and Denver on custom designed Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organs in lavish restaurant settings. Since 1966 he has been a featured artist for many ATOS  national and regional conventions
		In 1970, Nordwall graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Portland.  The following year, he was 
appointed organist for Portland’s First United Methodist Church and then assumed the Director of

Text Box: Church General Conferences, the American Choral Directors Association conventions, 
regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists, 
numerous music festivals, and with symphony orchestras throughout the northwestern United States and southern British Columbia.
		Nordwall has performed in Text Box: North America, Japan, Europe, and China and has made seven concert tours to Australia.  In 1999, he was an adjudicator and guest recitalist for the Swiss International Organ Competition in Geneva, Switzerland.
		Nordwall has over 30 highly acclaimed recordings often heard on the syndicated radio show Pipedreams.  National TV appearances include the “Today Show” and “Good Morning Australia.”
		A major influence in the latter 20th century design and manufacturing of both pipe and electronic 
Organs, Nordwall was with the Rodgers Organ Company for over 30 years and is presently an Allen Organ Company artist.Text Box: The Rochester Lilac
